Last Saturday the planets aligned and our family had no commitments. None at all! University - the new term hadn't started yet. Work - no events to attend. Church - no activities. Birthday parties - nil. Friends - we're wildly unpopular.
So..........we decided to take advantage of this rare event and do something fun as a family. We packed a picnic and our swimmers and headed for the Olympic Park. Ethan and David had a great time playing on the playground and throwing a frisbee (dangerously close to a dog-training class). They also played a round of mini-golf while Erica and I read the paper in a cafe. Then, we all went for a swim and enjoyed the fun 'river rapids' at the Olympic swimming pool. This was Erica's first time in a swimming pool - didn't seem to phase her.
