Conference

Thank you for the link to the General Conference pack Mum. It was a big hit with Ethan. Almost too big of a hit........

Both Ethan and Erica fell asleep at the same time yesterday afternoon. So, David and I took advantage of this extraordinary event by watching some General Conference. They both had very long sleeps (probably because they were up early searching for Easter bunnies). As a result, David and I ended up finishing the Sunday PM session (something we had previously planned on watching today at the chapel).

We went to Church this morning to watch the Sunday AM session. Ethan pulled out his General Conference pack and got to work. There was one activity where you had to tally up the number of times you saw different items or people on the screen. One of the people to look for was President Monson. When President Monson first appeared in the broadcast, Ethan excitedly yelled out "it's the Prophet, it's the Prophet".

He also had a bingo activity where you listened to the speakers words and crossed out different topics. Throughout the talks there were a number of times where Ethan exclaimed loudly about a particular topic. I wonder what the other members of our congregation thought? If they couldn't see the activities he was working on, he would have appeared to be a particularly devout four year old.

We went home after the Sunday AM session. When we told Ethan that we were heading home rather than staying for the second session, he started crying. We explained that David and I had already watched this session and Erica needed to go home for a sleep. Ethan continued to cry. Eventually David discovered that Ethan was upset because he hadn't been able to finish all of the activities in his book. We went home and watched a session of conference together while Erica slept. Ethan was able to finish all of his activities and he was satisfied.
