The kids and I ventured over to Ikea this week to attend a Viking Party. I know it is just a thinly veiled attempt to get parents into the store and spending (and it worked on me), but Ethan and Erica had a great time. They were fed a viking feast (an assortment of Ikea restaurant food) and played a viking game. The game involved throwing a fishing rod into a large box and pulling out a prize. Ethan scored a guinea pig toy and Erica hooked a rabbit. Ethan's toy looks remarkably life-like and I noticed a number of people do double-takes as we walked through the store. Seeing my children eat alongside approximately 60 other children confirmed something I have long suspected - Ethan and Erica are...............very.................slow..............eaters.
I picked up a few bits and pieces on the way out. Why is it so hard to get through Ikea without buying something? We have purchased our first Christmas wreath. Yipee!
When we arrived home, Ethan immediately relieved me of some packaging that he said would be ideal to recreate something he had seen on Playschool. He proceeded to construct a parking garage. He even made little parking tickets to give to the cars. He told David and I that all of the cars were allowed to park for free. I wish there were more carpark operators like Ethan in Sydney!
