Family Reunion #1

We have now returned from our break in Queensland where we were lucky enough to attend two family reunions in a row. The first part of the holiday was spent with my family.

What a great way to start a holiday - Birthday party on the first day! The kids had a great time helping Grace celebrate her Birthday. According to Ethan this just about made up for the three Birthday parties he missed while we were away.

Toy Story 3 was the next order of business. The movie was great, but I don't think Erica is quite old enough to appreciate a cinematic experience. She spent the majority of the time lying on the steps beside the seats. Then she sat on Mum's lap and kept asking "where is Buzz?" everytime Buzz Lightyear wasn't in a scene.

Family bonding via bowling was up next. We went to a new bowling alley so managed to score (relatively) new bowling shoes! I can't remember if it was Jodie or Steve who won. Either way more than half the family beat my score (actually the only person I beat was Mum and that includes all of the children). I didn't remember real-life bowling being so much harder than wii bowling.

We went to Church on Sunday at Mum and Dad's ward. Erica attended a nursery that is 400% bigger than the nursery in our ward and as a bonus her Grandmother is the assistant. Check out the fantastic outfit Erica picked out during dress-up time.

We spent a day at Dreamworld. Above is Erica and I on the teacup ride.

David and Ethan on the same ride.

David, Erica and I on the merry-go-round.

Ethan, Erica and I meeting Captain Feathersword and Wags. Erica loves the Wiggles, but I think only in a theoretical way. She wasn't too keen when confronted with them in real life.

Ethan, Erica and I on the swinger zinger. Ethan declared this to be his favourite ride. Erica loved it too.

The above photo was taken during family home evening. David and I had told Ethan about the chocolate game a couple of weeks ago. When we received the assignment to organise games for family home evening, Ethan was keen to try it. The chocolate game has now been placed on his mental (ie - in his mind, not 'crazy') must-play list for his birthday party next year....yes he has already started planning. Sorry Kerin and Steve about your distinctly evil-looking eyes in this photo.
