Early this morning I heard a knock at my bedroom door and somebody trying to turn the doorhandle. I called out "it's unlocked, come in". However I then heard footsteps walking back away from the door. I assumed that Ethan had changed his mind and had gone back to his bedroom to play. I fell back to sleep.
Turns out that was actually Erica knocking on my door. She had climbed out of her cot and opened her own bedroom door. After her unsuccessful attempt at getting into my bedroom, she went to Ethan's room. She was able to open his door. Ethan awoke to Erica standing beside his bed. He tucked her into his bed with him and read her some books. Then they played with some puzzles until I got up to figure out why I could hear Erica's voice coming from Ethan's bedroom.
Later this morning I found Ethan giving Erica pointers on how to turn the doorhandle to my room. I guess he doesn't want to be woken up every morning.
