Nine years ago today..
In no particular order here are nine things that I love about my love..
1) He gives me big warm hugs.
2) When he is away for work he calls me just to say "good morning".
3) He makes sure there is petrol in my car.
4) He is very thoughtful. Years ago I mentioned to David that I find it hard to look at a gift of flowers without thinking about $$. Before I had children I worked as an economist and I find it hard to turn off the little calculator in my head that starts computing the interest savings on our mortgage if those $$ had been applied elsewhere. Yes a little ungrateful of me, but that frugal voice in my head is pretty loud. The next time David wanted to give me flowers, he had thought around my little quirk, and instead presented me with a herb garden. Give me parsley and chives over roses anyday! I love my pot of herbs and still use them regularly. The little calculator in my head is also happy.
5) He loves my cooking and will eat it even when an experiment has gone terribly wrong.
6) He happily goes to the grocery store when I need just one item.
7) He understands computers and electronics.
8) He tells me I am beautiful when I am walking around bare-faced and messy-haired in my pyjamas.
9) He is incredibly hard-working. He juggles MBA studies, a time consuming corporate job, Bishopric, Father, husband, son, friend....I don't know how he manages to keep it all going, but he does!
