Adventures in Asian Snack Foods

A couple of weeks ago the kids and I found ourselves in Chatswood with some time to fill. We headed to the Miracle Supermarket in the Mandarin Centre and spent some time picking out some new (to us) snack foods for our family to try.

Our first pick were these Japanese ramen flavour crackers..

Apparently "everyone says GOOD GOOD EAT", but the girl on the front of the packet looks pretty disappointed. We weren't. They taste great! Here is a shot of the packet contents..

I have no idea what these are called and when I purchased them I had no idea what was inside the packets..

Turns out each packet contains one really long cheezel-like tube. These were a hit with the kids.
An update in 2024 - We have since lived in Korea for 3 years and Clara LOVES these snacks.

Again, I wasn't really sure what I would be getting when I purchased this..

Some type of round food that maybe has something to do with chimps and dogs??* Very curious. Inside the packet we found this..

They are low in fat, low in sugar, low in salt and extremely low in taste. However they did make great bingo markers..

Our final (and safer) choice were these 'great tasting sport biscuits'..

They lived up to their name and did indeed taste great - similar to tiny teddies or McDonald's cookies. On each biscuit is a picture of a biscuit enjoying sport. Extra points for cuteness!

* David's theory is that there are animals on the packet because it is actually pet food.
