Escaping the House

I love free school holiday activities. Some of the libraries, local councils and shopping centres around here do a great job with their holiday events.

Last week Ethan and Erica particularly enjoyed participating in a doughnut decorating workshop run by Donut King at Rhodes Shopping Centre. Here they are with their creations..

Ethan put so much icing and sprinkles on his doughnut he filled up the hole.

After the doughnuts were eaten we headed over to the cinema to watch 'Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore'. We had complimentary tickets from Qantas. Thank you Qantas!

I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie unless you have free tickets (or are particularly intrigued by the idea of seeing a Bond movie acted by cats and dogs). Having said that though, Ethan thought it was a fantastic movie. I guess I am not really the target market. Here is a picture of Ethan and Erica pretending to be cats in the cinema..

Ethan is very interested in seeing this movie..

I'm sure he will have no problem convincing David to take him to see it (assuming it is G-rated). After the movies we ate lunch at Ikea for a grand total of $5 (using vouchers).

Result = two very happy children who escaped the house for a few hours on a rainy day and one very happy Mum who had barely a dent in her pocket.
