When our family relocated to Sydney we made a list of interesting and fun things we would like to experience in this city. Over time we have added to the list considerably. Occasionally we tick things off, but the list seems to grow at a faster rate than we can keep up.
Last week we spent a family morning in the city and were able to tick off two items from the list - a visit to the Australian Museum and trying the burgers at Charlie & Co.

The architecture of the Australian Museum is lovely to look at inside and out. We had fun exploring the exhibitions. However, overall I didn't find it quite as exciting as the Melbourne Museum. It's pretty hard to beat wall-sized pin art where you can make an imprint of your entire body. Remember pin art? It looks like this......

Behold wagyu burger with beetroot relish, pickled gherkin and aged cheddar on a sesame brioche bun. Behind it is a bowl of parmesan and truffle fries. My overall verdict - I loved the fries, the beef was juicy and divine, but my favourite burger still remains the Taco Turkey at The Counter. David still prefers his burger and fries from Grill'd.

Here are some pictures of our explorations inside the museum....

Erica not so keen on the dinosaurs.

Ethan the turtle (or as he would insist - the NINJA turtle).

Erica the bee.

Ethan the panda (or as he would insist - the KUNG FU panda).

Ethan the tiger.
Following our visit to the museum we headed over to the new Westfield Sydney. We had a brief look around the stores, but not too much because the place was packed! I will return at some point on a weekday after Zara has opened. Our real aim was the 5th floor food court where we could find Charlie & Co. David and I had both heard a lot of good things about the burgers here.

After lunch we wandered through Hyde Park on our way back to the car......
