We have had a cold run through our family over the past couple of weeks. First Erica felt ill, then Ethan and now me. David took last Friday off work to help out at home while I felt at my worst. Unfortunately he really needed to return to work yesterday, which was also Ethan's first day back at school.
After dropping Ethan at school I returned home and collapsed on the couch. Erica told me that she was going to be my nurse and look after me. Here are some of the thoughtful things she did for me:
* She took the blanket from her bed and wrapped it around me telling me it would make me feel better. Then she told me to close my eyes and go to sleep. I told her I wasn't tired, so she forced my eyelids shut and said "goodnight Mummy". When I opened my eyes again a few seconds later she leaned right into my face and shouted "I SAID GOODNIGHT!".
* She took Ethan's Spiderman toy and walked it all over my legs and back while calling out "Superman!".
* She again instructed me to close my eyes and have a sleep. This time I voluntarily closed my eyes to avoid being forced. However Erica waited a few seconds and then said "1,2,3 WAKE UP MUMMY!". Jeff Wiggle has a lot to answer for.
