Every few months I sort through our food storage cupboard and pull out the foods that are coming close to their expiry date. Last time I looked through the cupboard I found a packet of create-a-jelly. I told David that we needed to think of a new jelly flavour and we ran through some ideas. My idea of beetroot jelly was quickly dismissed. David came up with the idea of root beer jelly that could be served with vanilla ice-cream to make a root beer jelly float. I declared David to be a jelly genius and we tried out the dessert recently when my brother was visiting (because he is the biggest jelly fan in the world).

et voila.......
It tasted ok. I think I prefer the real thing rather than the jelly version.
