David and Ethan abandoned us on Friday afternoon to go camping, so Erica and I decided to have our own fun at home. We had a Mummy-Erica sleep over. We stayed up really late (9:30pm) and watched a movie together (Diego's Great Jaguar Rescue - Erica has added 'Jaguar' to her Christmas present wish list).
We also built a gingerbread house..
Above is Erica squeezing the icing to make it soft. We bought a gingerbread house kit from Costco. It turned out to be a great kit with (good) icing included, some lollies (although we always add more) and a handy base for the house. Plus the house is super cute. When I saw the picture on the box I thought I would be able to replicate that look, but I quickly worked out that that wasn't possible (waaaay above my ability level), so we went our own direction.
We also built a gingerbread house..
Erica holding the Christmas tree in place while the icing sets. The kit included a Christmas tree, snowman and gingerbread man. Erica was a bit disappointed that it didn't include a witch, because she wanted to make the witch's house from Hansel & Gretel.
The wall that Erica designed (above). The gingerbread man is playing with butterflies. I was pretty impressed with Erica's abilities. She was quite accurate and neat for a three year old.

Et Voila! Finito!
Erica has told me that we cannot eat the gingerbread house until Nan and Pa can see it in a couple of weeks.

The next morning we went to the park. Erica purposely wore two different coloured socks. She often makes her own fashion statements.
We also went riding. This time in a Captain Feathersword costume.
We did some baking, because Erica really likes cooking at the moment.
And we even painted our nails.
