Eastern Beach

Eastern Beach in Geelong is a fantastic place to take children on a warm day. There is a great children's pool, diving boards with deeper water for the bigger people and a fun playground. We visited on a cold overcast day, so there was definitely no swimming for us. However we still enjoyed our quick visit.

The obligatory Geelong bollard photo.

Some of the awesome diving boards/platforms around the ocean pool.

David and Ethan walking along the deck. Check out the spinning wheel at the end of the deck. I didn't ever try this when we lived in Geelong, but it was always amusing to watch others roll into the water.

Ethan enjoying the playground.

David and the kids. The children's pool is directly behind them. It has been recently renovated so we were interested in seeing the finished result. There is a big fountain in the middle of the pool, which is always fun for children to run in and out of, but unfortunately is not visible in this photo.

When we visit waterfront areas like this in Sydney we are used to paying for parking (sometimes at pretty ridiculous rates) and then sometimes paying again in order to access the beach. We were delighted to discover that there are still parts of Australia where you can enjoy the waterfront for free!
