Ethan has gone a little Olympics-crazy. He has been learning about all things Olympics at school and became very excited in the lead up to the London Games. We decided to encourage his passion by organising a family activity to go along with the Opening Ceremony.
Ethan and I got out of bed at 5:30am to watch the live coverage of the Opening Ceremony.

Erica joined us later.

David unsuccessfully attempted to watch the Olympics later in the morning.

We ate a full English breakfast while watching the Parade of Nations. David and Ethan have both requested that I make this a Saturday morning tradition. That won't be happening!

Hmmm which scone should I eat?

Yummy!

The Olympic torch Erica made for our Opening Ceremony breakfast table.

After breakfast the competition was intense at the Jeffrey family Olympics. We played balloon volleyball, shot put and long jump. Ethan used the couch cushions to make some hurdles.
Gold medal hurdler. Erica and I made the gold medals. Erica claims they are better than real gold medals because ours have an Oreo on the inside. Ethan made the Olympic rings poster and mascots poster on the wall behind him. Erica made the collage of flags. You can also see the form Ethan is using to keep track of Australia's medal count.
Ethan's enthusiasm for the Olympics is still strong. He was riveted a couple of nights ago by the equestrian and rowing.
