Book Week Parade

Book week time again! This year it was easy to find a costume for Ethan. He has been collecting bits and pieces for a Harry Potter costume over the last year. The trickiest part of this costume was getting the lightning bolt scar just right (and it had to be in red according to Ethan).

The piece of paper in Ethan's hand is a Marauder's Map. A boy in our Primary made his own Marauder's Map and this inspired Ethan to do the same. As you can see from the three Harry Potters in the above picture alone, Ethan's costume was a popular choice. Ethan was one of approximately 50 Harry Potter characters at book week - including many of the teachers. Ethan's teacher dressed as Professor Sprout (which Ethan thought was fantastic).

Before we left home to go to the book week parade, Erica packed a bag full of 'needed' items. She wouldn't let me look in the bag before we left, but I told her she could bring it if she promised to carry it herself. Part way through the parade, Erica sat on the ground and started taking off her shoes. She then pulled out a new pair of shoes from her bag! Throughout the morning she also produced a Minnie Mouse headband, a paper fan and a pair of pink heart-shaped sunglasses. Indeed all very important items to have on hand for a book week parade.

After the parade we spent some time in Ethan's classroom. At lunch time we had a picnic of sushi and.....

Lamingtons!
