Little Athletics

Ethan is very much sports-crazy. He plays a sport every lunch-time at school, kicks a soccer ball or bounces a basketball around the backyard after school and I often catch him practising long jump in our lounge room. One of Ethan's favourite sports is running, so he asked if he could try a season of Little Athletics. He has been having a great time. I really like that he is competing against some very fast children who present him with some serious competition. He isn't winning races easily, or winning at all most of the time, so he has something to work for and is starting to focus more on improving his own times/distances/heights. Ethan is on the far right side of the above picture. He looks so big there. When did he grow up?!

Ethan picked a perfect year to start competing in Little Athletics, because it is also the first year when Erica can participate. Her group mostly plays games with some athletics-type foundations. They do one 'proper' running race every week. This is Erica's favourite part. Above is Erica racing and trying to keep her hat on her head.

More long jump practise while waiting for Dad to finish in the Temple later that day.
