It's a.......

Girl!!!
More dresses and pigtails for our home.

David and I had the morphology ultrasound yesterday.  Well, technically I had the ultrasound and David sat in a chair beside me.  Thankfully, everything appears to be fine thus far with the baby.

Erica knew we would probably find out the gender of the baby yesterday.  She asked if she could miss school that day and come to the ultrasound with us.  I told her she needed to go to school because she had been home sick the previous day, but I would tell her whether she was having a brother or sister after school.

When I picked Erica up from school she ran over to me and said "am I having a brother or a sister?".  I told her Daddy wanted to be there when we told her and Ethan the news, so she would have to wait until David came home from work.  Erica ran back to her teacher to report this news.  Her teacher told me that Erica kept putting her hand up in class and asking if it was time yet for Mum to pick her up.  She was desperate to find out the gender.

David and I decided to have a 'gender reveal' dessert with the kids.  I made a pink cake, which I iced so that you couldn't see the inside.  The idea was that the kids would cut the cake and look at the colour inside to reveal whether they were having a brother or sister - except that they didn't really get it.  They cut the cake and Ethan said "is this a strawberry cake?".  Then Erica said "where is the clue?  I thought there was a clue inside the cake".  David explained that the colour was the clue and they put it all together.  Erica started dancing around and cheering (very loudly) because she really wants a little sister.

Erica has already submitted a list of names for the baby.  I'm not sure if we will use any of them.  This is Erica's list......

Lexica
Ridoria (which was also the name of her now-deceased pet caterpillar)
Madelia
Window (?)
Grace (her cousin)
Armarna (another cousin)
Jodie (her Aunty)
Dayba
Midoria
Seedoria
Cereal (?)
Seedaisy
Georgia
Georgie (one of Erica's friends)
Ava
Larissa (her Aunty)
Clock (?)
Claire (a YSA from Church)
Princess Tiana
Princess Ting Ting
May
Lucarina (which was initially Luca, but I explained that was traditionally a boy's name)
Corina

Erica's boy name was "Tom Pickton".  Yes, a first and last name.  Not coincidentally there is a boy in Erica's school class of the same name.

I should show Steve Erica's list. He likes unusual names for girls.
