David and I have established a tradition with our babies - on the day they are discharged from hospital we take them for a walk by the beach. We have been fortunate to have really nice weather on the days when both Ethan and Erica were discharged from the hospital. With Ethan we went for a walk at Torquay. With Erica we went for a walk at Balmoral.
Clara was born in the middle of Winter, so it was a little cold for a beach walk. I was also discharged from hospital in the afternoon right before school finished, so our older two children would have been very unimpressed if we had delayed Clara's arrival home.
While David was on paternity leave there were some warm-ish and clear days, so we took the opportunity then to take a stroll by the water with Clara. We decided to check out Harbour Sculpture at Hunters Hill.
Some of the sculptures. How cute are those penguins - but not as cute as....
Clara appreciating the art and Sydney Harbour.
Looking across to the city from Hunters Hill.
Shopping for our next big-ticket purchase. Perhaps the boat above would suit or maybe this is more our style......
Though somehow I don't think Wild Oats XI is for sale. Plus I'm pretty sure every boat at Woolwich Marina costs more than our house!.......and I get seasick.
