This year we have two gingerbread creations. Erica has put together a gingerbread house using a kit from Aldi (which was fantastic by the way because it uses large pieces, making it easy for a five year old to assemble on their own). Erica's unmade kit was sitting on the kitchen bench for a while and Ethan said "can I do a gingerbread kit too?". He hadn't previously expressed any interest in doing this, but I was more than happy for Ethan to join in. I'm not sure if his sudden interest is related more to the making or the eating - I think the eating, but he had fun with the making.
