Halloween

Wow, Halloween in our new area is on another level!  I had asked some neighbours and done some google searching to see if much happened in our area during Halloween.  As it turns out we live within walking distance of one of 'the best' Halloween streets in the city (I would venture quite possibly the entire country!).

There is one street close to us where the majority of houses decorate (it is a pretty long street).  We were amazed by the incredible effort many of the families had made.  There were homes where the entire front yard had been transformed into a walk through haunted house. Children are always dressed-up in costumes for trick or treating, but I was amazed with how many adults were also dressed-up.  There were smoke machines, eerie music, awesome decorations and lots and lots and lots of people!

Check out some of our pictures..

Love the Minecraft guy in the bottom left-hand corner!

I cannot fathom the volume of lollies the homes here must have gone through.  Ethan and Erica didn't knock on a single door.  Every family was out in their front yard handing out treats.  The scariest part of the night according to Erica was when she had to walk past a real cat sitting next to somebody's front path.  All of the witches, skeletons and actual spooky items didn't phase her at all - this includes having to reach into a fake operating table to retrieve a lollipop and a real hand popped up and grabbed her!  Ethan and Erica (and me!) were in constant awe of this amazing Halloween display.  David indicated that it was somewhat approaching what he has seen in North America, but still not as big!
