Clara has been amazing us all lately with her language development - particularly David who goes away for chunks of times for work and then comes back to a toddler who has figured out more sentences.
A 'benefit' of being the youngest child in our family is that Clara gets to spend many hours waiting at athletics fields, gymnasiums, dance studios and soccer fields while her older siblings do their activities. She is pretty good with this now and has worked out some little tricks of the trade - like where is the best place to throw a ball, where to go to get a Zooper Dooper (ice block) and where to find a playground. Occasionally she will try something a little more out of the box to entertain herself. A few weeks ago Clara took off all of her clothes, except for her nappy, and started doing somersaults on a gymnastics mat that wasn't currently being used. Much to her annoyance I took her away from there quick smart.

Clara having a sleep in the car after a long day, but still holding onto her Zooper Dooper.
Clara entertaining herself at Little Athletics.
Ethan running by (in the green skins). Sometimes Clara stands near the sidelines and yells things at the runners such as 'TOO SLOW!'. I didn't teach her that, I tend to call out words of support. Fortunately I don't think the runners can understand what Clara is saying.
Clara gave Ethan, Erica and I a fun afternoon a couple of months ago when she got herself trapped in the lift of our building. We were all taking the groceries out of the lift when the next thing I know Clara was in the lift and pushing buttons. She must have panicked when the doors closed and the lift started moving. We think she pushed the stop button, which caused the lift to get stuck between floors. Forty-five minutes later a serviceman from the lift company came and freed her (it was peak hour traffic). Through that whole time Clara was extremely unimpressed (understandably). Initially she was crying, but then calmed down and we did counting and other games (as best we can through the closed door of a lift). Now we have a new family rule that Clara gets out of the lift first and we all watch her until she is inside our apartment. She can easily reach the button on the outside wall that opens the lift doors and the buttons inside the lift to make it move. We were told that Clara has not been the first child in our building to do this, but gets the award for being the youngest.
Clara doing one of her favourite activities - playing at the park.
Clara after being caught eating cupcakes. She took the tray out of the fridge and then ate all of the tops - I guess that is the best bit.
Clara playing with her best friend Erica - although she tells each of us that we are her best friend on different days. Clara calls Erica 'Eye-rica'. When Clara was younger she used to call Erica 'Eyes' - which we think has to do with Erica's glasses. Now Clara has evolved the name to 'Eye-rica'.
Clara playing hide-and-go-seek, but getting interrupted when Erica starts looking for her missing tap shoes.
Clara doing a dance.
