Erica's Baptism Day

Some time ago Erica told David and I that she would like to be baptised in Queensland, where a lot of our extended family could attend the baptism.  David and I decided that this was a great idea and made it happen.  We went to the Gold Coast for a week and Erica was able to be baptised while we were there.  She was so excited in the lead up.

Before we left for Queensland we took some photos at home of Erica wearing her baptism dress.  I think this is quite possibly her favourite dress ever.  Since the baptism she has been wearing it every second week to Church.  We'll see if it is still wearable when it comes time for Clara's baptism :)

Such a sweetheart!

After we had found the baptism dress, Erica decided that she would like if Clara had a special dress too.  Here are the girls ready to go to the baptism.  This picture is taken from the apartment we were staying in at Palm Beach.

Erica was baptised at the Mudgeeraba Chapel.  A lot of family members were able to be there to support her.  It was very special to Erica and she had a wonderful experience.  Right after Erica came out of the water she told me that she felt the spirit as she was baptised.

The picture below is of our family right before the baptism.  We were greatly frustrating Jodie (the photographer) with somebody blinking/looking away/making a weird expression in each shot.  This is the best of the many many she attempted.  Sorry Jodie!

All of the Buckle grandchildren.  Nan was super keen to get this shot.  I believe it is now her computer background :)

Erica asked if we could go out for lunch after the baptism.  David and I thought that this was a great idea - no food prep and no clean-up for us.  Erica chose Sizzler.

Erica at Sizzler and maybe starting to get a little tired of the picture taking...

Definitely done with the picture taking...

Clara always ready with a cheesy grin when the camera is pointed her direction...
