Mele Cascades

Our next stop was Port Vila.  It doesn't have a particular picturesque city, but we found a beautiful spot about 10km away called Mele Cascades where we had a lot of fun.  On a side note, we drove past two LDS chapels between the cruise ship and the Cascades.

Here are some pictures from the Cascades..

Near the bottom of the Cascades.  Pretty beautiful.

Ethan outside one of the pools of water.

We spent a lot of time at this particular water hole - mostly because there is a waterslide in the rock!

David and Clara watching the jumping and sliding.

Here are some movies of our antics...

There were lots of tiny little fish inside the water that nibbled your feet.  Kind of a natural version of the fish foot spas you see in Asia.

Here are the fish feeding on my feet.  It tickles a little.

Clara watching the action.  She was very concerned about the biting fish.

Because it was dry season, and particularly dry at the moment apparently, the cascades were more of a trickle.  The water we saw wasn't as impressive as at other times of the year.  There was a waterfall but with not a lot of water falling.  However, we still had fun, the walk and climb over the rocks wasn't treacherous for Clara and I think we probably encountered smaller crowds than usual.
