Shezhuang Temple

This interesting little Taoist Temple is a short walk from our house.  It was built at the end of the 17th Century.  It used to be surrounded by a village, but most of that has been knocked down now to make way for a Metro line and other developments.  The Temple still stands though.  It feels like such a contrast in worlds.  Our recently built modern compound is a block away from this very old temple. We visited one afternoon to take a look..

David trying to resist the temptation to bang on the drum.  He couldn't resist.  David really wants to buy a drum for our house while we are in China.  Hopefully not one that big.  I think it would be cool to have a gong and use it to call the children in for dinner :)
