Wuzhen is an ancient water town about a two hour drive from Shanghai. It's nickname is 'Venice of the East'. It's very pretty. Not sure if I would put it in the same category as Venice though. We had a fun visit..
There was an area where you could try lots of different street food snacks. We had an awesome flat bread, and these yummy savoury pancakes. The kids wanted dessert, so Erica and Clara picked fairy floss and Ethan went for candied fruit on a stick.
Above is a Chinese girl daintily eating her fairy floss. See below for how my children eat their fairy floss..
Cherry tomatoes are considered fruit in China (which is technically correct I think?). Ethan leaves that one out when he eats the candied fruit.
On a side note, some of Mission Impossible 3 was filmed in Wuzhen.
