This collection of videos gives a very good insight into Clara's personality at three years old...
The Chinese person speaking to us part way through says "hen piaoliang.....baby" which means "very pretty......baby", then asks to take a picture. Clara expressed her disinterest in posing for a picture. I ask Clara to be polite when she refuses, but I also understand why she can be so forceful. Even when we refuse (and I can do this well in Mandarin now), 50% of the time they will still take pictures - sometimes picking Clara up, trying to touch her hair, sometimes kissing her! Clara doesn't like this at all. One of David's colleagues has mentioned that it is good luck to have your picture taken with a person who has blonde curly hair and blue eyes (I have no idea if this is accurate, but there are definitely a lot of people who want to take a picture with Clara).
