The school offers a lot of extra-curricular opportunities. Erica auditioned for, tried out for and signed-up to everything possible I think. She has been super busy this last term.
Erica was selected for the netball team. They won the championship! Erica plays Goal Shooter or Goal Keeper.
Erica auditioned for the Grade 3 and 4 school musical and landed one of the main roles (she came home after the audition and told me that it went horribly ha!). The production was called 'Porridge' and Erica played Goldie Lox. She hated wearing that wig, but loved the rest of the experience. She did a fantastic job, didn't look nervous at all and learnt a huge amount of lines.
This is in Erica's classroom. They did a project on Native Americans.
Erica was selected to represent the school in Singapore at a sporting competition. This is Erica with her soccer team.
Erica with her medal from Singapore. She won a silver medal in athletics.
Erica running in a relay race in Singapore. All of those mornings spent at Little Athletics in Sydney helping greatly.
Erica with her basketball team. Yes, she has also been playing in a basketball team!
This term at school Erica wanted to return to gymnastics. David and I agreed, but that is her only activity now because it requires six hours per week of training. I'm not sure if the gymnastics will continue though because the Chinese coaches have quite a different approach to the Australian coaches (actually they were European, but you know what I mean). Erica isn't enjoying the difference.
Erica participating in a fashion show at a Branch activity. The activity was Family History-themed. Some of the children dressed up as an ancestor.
Erica squaring off with a Storm Trooper.
Erica has also just found out that when she starts school again in August she is being moved up to the next Mandarin class. Erica has been working hard at practising her characters, which is the area she has found hardest in mandarin. Her hard-work has paid off.
