This is how we buy our cheese here - in bulk. I have put my hand into the picture to give you some perspective on how massive that bag of mozzarella is.
We also order groceries online and have them delivered. The delivery is super fast. I don't think we've ever had an item missing, but you do sometimes end up with problems like my smashed eggs above. They sent me a new carton of eggs the next morning.
These pictures are taken in Chonqing. David goes here occasionally for work. The picture above is taken from behind the waterfall in the second picture.
This is also taken in Chongqing. Smallest McDonalds ever (possibly).
Mum took these pictures. When we moved here I was initially fascinated and looked out the window as we drove around. Now I have stopped paying so much attention to my surroundings. These pictures reminded me of two things you see pretty much anytime you leave the house - somebody with an amazingly big pile of items stacked on a cart or motorbike or three wheel vehicle, and lots of washing hanging out on poles from apartment windows. It still amuses us a little when we walk through a laneway and people have their underwear hanging above our heads. I think there is much less a sense of embarrassment amongst Chinese people. When it is hot men will commonly roll up their shirts and let their bellies hang out (regardless of what that belly looks like). There is also a belief that walking backward is good exercise (and it probably is). It looks quite amusing though to see people walking backwards. David said he has seen men near his office walking backwards with their shirts rolled up and slapping their bellies as they walk.
Pan-fried pork dumplings. Yum! These were bought in the Old Town area. However, there is a great place near us that will deliver four pan-fried pork dumplings for 8 RMB (that is about $1.50 Australian).
Clara spotted this display in a supermarket. She wanted to take a picture to show to Ethan.
Cherry blossoms in our front yard. So pretty. They are already gone - lasted for about a month.
