Bamboo Rafting on the Yulong River

For this trip I organised some of our activities ahead of time using a tour guide.  I did all of the correspondence and had a good understanding of what I was signing us up for.  It turns out though that I didn't share enough of that detail with the others.  I had mentioned that we were going bamboo rafting and would go over some waterfalls.  Unbeknownst to me, Mum was dreading this activity because she was imagining something along the lines of white-water rafting on bamboo whilst trying to cling to children.  In reality it was a pretty calm activity.

Mum happy to realise that she wasn't going to have to save children (or herself) from drowning.

Actually, there was still some chance of needing to fish children out of the water.  Fortunately they didn't fall in.

When we got off the rafts we were immediately accosted by four little old ladies who were trying to thrust flower crowns into my hands.  We bought one for Clara.

Some videos David took on his GoPro..

Actually, the bamboo rafting was probably one of my most favourite activities of all the great things I was able to do during my visit to China. It was a wonderful holiday!! Thank you Megan.
