Clara has gone from full-time staying at home with Mum to five full days of school per week! She now loves school and looks forward to it each day. Isn't she cute in her uniform :)
In the car on the way to school.
Heading back home at the end of the day. Showing me the bracelet that she made.
On a different day in her PE kit.
Clara was able to bring the class mascot home. A toucan! There are actually two toucans named 'onecan' and 'twocan' ha!
Doing a cartwheel (I think) with Toucan on the trampoline.
Clara's first piece of homework. In the classroom they do elements of phonics, reading, writing, maths, learning mandarin etc, however there is still a lot of play-based learning time. Clara loves computer lab time, music lessons, PE lessons and library time. Soon she will start swimming lessons. There are two teachers in her classroom. One speaks entirely in English (though she can actually speak fluent Mandarin) and the other teacher only speaks in Mandarin with the children.
Clara is one of the youngest in her class (and in her grade), but seems to be making friends well. She has a cute little group of girls she runs around with, who are kind of like a United Nations of children - one from Argentina, one from USA, one from South Africa and a few from China.
Some artwork Clara brought home in the first week. I need to buy more fridge magnets.
