Boracay

Boracay (or the Philippines in general) had never really been on my radar as a place I was overly interested in visiting.  We decided to visit here because it was a short flight away from China (convenient with a four year old) and we could secure flights using frequent flyer points at a time when regular flights are expensive (a public holiday).  So, the Philippines it was.  We had heard good things about Boracay, but didn't really know a lot or have much of a pre-conception.

As it turns out it Boracay was an absolutely gorgeous place and we loved our holiday here.  David and I feel we enjoyed it more than our beach holidays in Thailand.  We lucked out with fantastic weather (despite visiting at the tail-end of typhoon season).  There were beautiful sunsets everyday as above, white sand, clear warm waters, A LOT of activities available for fun, or the option of doing nothing at all.  A perfect David Jeffrey holiday.

Our internal flights weren't booked with points, but I did opt for our cheapest option - Air Asia.  When the plane cabin looked like this before take-off I was a little concerned about my choice.  It turns out that this was just the combination of the air conditioner meeting the humidity of the air.  We made it safely to the other end (obviously!).

Right after we had unpacked - David and Ethan immediately checking out the water.

Just beautiful.

The pool at our hotel.  Clara spent a lot of time in here.

A panorama of another sunset.
