One of the biggest perks of living in Asia is the ability to afford household help. We have an ayi who works for us part-time. She helps with cleaning and babysitting. Our ayi is always happy to watch the girls on a Friday or Saturday evening if David and I would like to go out on a date.
On one of our dates I met David after work and we went to the viewing decks in the Pearl Tower and visited the Shanghai History Museum (at the bottom of the Pearl Tower). Awesome date.
This is one of the buildings in LuJiaZui (near David's office). I can't remember the name of this building but the columns are impressive. That is me standing on my own in the middle of the shot.
A view of The Bund from the Pearl Tower.
The kids and I constructed a gingerbread house.
We also deconstructed and ate the gingerbread house. We eat this at the Christmas movie sleep-over night. Every year the kids spend a night watching Christmas movies, eating gingerbread and sleeping over in the lounge room.
Erica at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at her school. The lights aren't defective, they just light up in sections. The school decorates for different occasions. At Chinese New Year last year there was a giant rooster. I wonder what will be there this year? Just checked - it is the year of the dog. Can't wait to see a giant lit-up dog in the school courtyard :)
