I informed the family that this Christmas I wasn't going to be doing a lot of cooking. Finding ingredients for a traditional Christmas meal tends to be either difficult or impossible or very expensive. On top of this we were leaving the next day for holidays, so I didn't want to have a lot of left-overs and a messy kitchen to deal with. So, instead we decided to try out the character buffet at the Shanghai Disney Resort.
Christmas isn't a holiday in China, so everybody else was still working on Christmas Day.
This is Erica standing outside of the hotel. The entire place is so 'Disney' - obviously! But by that I mean, so cute and well thought-out - it has that Disney magic.
The characters we were able to meet at breakfast were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. The girls really wanted to meet Belle (the restaurant is Beauty and the Beast themed). Somebody told me a while back that Shanghai Disney tends to mostly use the 'core' Disney characters, because Chinese people are less familiar with the movies. I have seen people at Shanghai Disney referring to the princesses as 'Barbie', so that seems plausible.
