The Marble Mountains are a group of marble and limestone mountains to the South of Da Nang. The mountains contain walking paths, lookouts, Buddhist sanctuaries, pagodas and caves with carvings.
Looking out over the surrounding town and other hills. The town's main industry is stone sculptures. There were many many shops with sculptures spilling out onto the footpaths. There were also a lot of touts who approached us in the streets encouraging us to come and view their wares.
By the looks of this picture you would think that we had had an exhausting climb, but actually the walking was quite mild. There is an option to take a lift up the side of the mountain for a small extra fee (we did that).
There are a lot of paths and areas to explore on the hill that are accessible to tourists. The kids (and David) weren't super-keen to spend a lot of time here. The Marble Mountains aren't considerably different to places we have visited in China. I told them that once we had located 'the large buddha carving inside the cave' we could make our way back down the mountain. Unfortunately for me it didn't take long to locate this, and we ended up exploring maybe 1/3 of the area.
