Shopping in China

As seen on Taobao.  I never actually saw somebody wearing these, but I did know a few people who received them as joke gifts.

I have no idea how the elaborate bacon differed from the regular bacon.  It looked the same to me.

In Australia there might be a few options for soy sauce in the grocery store.  In China there is an entire aisle, with many many different flavours. - and took me a few attempts before I found one that tasted 'normal' to me.

If you are getting your fibre from Sprite, you have problems.

And one of the great items you can buy in China - very cheap fresh flowers..

There used to be a row of little old ladies selling flowers in the carpark of a grocery store not too far from our house.  Likewise there was a lady across the road from a sports store I used to visit.  One day the ladies in the supermarket carpark all disappeared.  A while later they all appeared next to the lady opposite the sports store (and she didn't look impressed).  About a month after that they all disappeared and I never saw them again.  A Chinese friend told me that the government had been cracking down on unregistered businesses.  I guess they all got shut down.  When we left Shanghai there was nowhere local where you could quickly go to pick up a bunch of flowers.  I bet a solution has already been found though - there is always somebody watching for a market opportunity.
