This was a life-time so-far highlight for Erica. There is a place outside of Chengdu where you can pay a (sizable) donation to panda conservation and in exchange you are able to meet a panda and have your picture taken. This was a special experience for Erica's Birthday.
We spent the first hour and a half touring the panda base and seeing the different panda enclosures. It was breakfast time, so we were able to see a bit of activity from the pandas. However, normally adult pandas don't do a lot. They spend large amounts of time eating.
I have about 50 versions of this same picture. Erica was beyond thrilled. As we were leaving this area we were also (by chance) able to see some baby pandas having a bath. So cute.
