Erica Lately

Erica LOVES to bake.  On this day she made a large number or cookies and put them into cute little packages.  She and David then drove around our area in Shanghai delivering the packages to some of the 'single' men in our ward.  They aren't really 'single', it was during the summer when many of the families are in their home countries for the break, while the men remain behind to work.

A couple more of Erica's baking creations.

At Carrefour in Jinqiao.

On our last night in Shanghai.  Erica had come to the hairdresser with me and been treated to a wash and blow dry.

One of Erica's new friends in Chennai.  This was on multiples day.  Some (all? many?) American schools have a concept called spirit week, that I had never heard of before.  Each day has a different dress-up theme.

Some pictures of Erica on her school camp in Puducherry.  The grade went away on camp a couple of weeks after Erica arrived at the school.  Erica wasn't too sure about this, but ended up having a fun time.

This reminds me of a funny story regarding Erica's first day of school in Chennai.  Erica didn't start at the beginning of the day.  We were met by staff for some formalities.  When it was time for Erica to start class she was met by a school counsellor, who explained that (completely by chance) Erica's first lesson would be a discussion on puberty.  As if the first day of a new school in a new country wasn't already daunting enough!  Erica did just fine though.

Erica seems to have acclimatised very well to the Indian heat.  This is how she was dressed for school on a 30+ degree day.  I tried to convince her to leave the ugg boots at home, but to no avail.

Erica was in the school play.  She did a great job of learning all of her lines in only one week!

Go Karting with some friends.
