Jebel Shams is referred to as 'The Grand Canyon of Arabia'. We drove a long winding road to get here (which was off-road for about the last hour), but the views were spectacular.
There were little arranged piles of rocks around the place. Erica made her own stack.
This is what the mountains look like from the air. One of the more interesting-looking landscapes I have flown over.
We stopped at a small restaurant in the middle of nowhere on the way back from Jebel Shams. Our guide recommended that we should try this meal. It was amazing - so delicious! Wish I could remember what it was called. We also tried Omani bread twice and that was so good - particularly the one with honey and cheese.
