I don't get as many photos of Ethan these days, because he understandably doesn't want his Mum tagging along taking pictures. Here are some that I do have..
Ethan won an award at school for being a thinker.
We were very proud of him, but also quite amused because the previous night he had accidentally left ice-cream on the bench (which comes in a cardboard box). We found it melted all over the bench and floor the next morning ha! But the school is right, in general he is a thinker. He has also more recently won the subject award for social studies and so far this year has achieved straight 8s (highest possible score - more difficult than an 'A') for his assessments in social studies.
Ethan after he arrived home from school camp. He had a great time, but was exhausted!
These are the camps that the High School students can choose from. Each camp will contain a mixture of children from different High School Grades. What an awesome range of options! Seriously - hiking in the foothills of the Himalayas, learning to dive in the Andaman Islands, studying art in Varanasi! Can I go on these camps?!
Last year Ethan went to Manali, which required a full day of travel each side. An early morning plane, followed by a train, followed by a bus, followed by 4WD! This year Ethan determined to pick a camp with minimal travel, so he did Surfing & Service in Puducherry.
Ethan was able to bring his own surfboard. Ethan and his friend both already had surfing experience, so were given their own instructor to stay with them out in the surf, while the other students completed the learn-to-surf course. Ethan said he learnt some good tips.
