During the October school break we decided to take a road trip through the state of Karnataka. The capital city here is Bengaluru (Bangalore). We loved Bengaluru and would love if some of the elements here could translate to Chennai - better shopping and restaurants, some well-maintained nicer green spaces, better climate (not so hot!). The big down-side is no beach.

At Bangalore Palace. It was built to resemble Windsor Castle. It is the home of the previous Maharajas of the state. We only visited the grounds. I had been told that the interior is a bit run-down and not worth the admission fee (which is pretty steep by Indian standards). The outside looks quite lovely though!
