From what I have read, The Mysore Zoo is one of the best zoos in India. It was clean and had a good range of animals. The admission came to about $6 for our entire family. I have no idea how they keep it running with the ticket prices being so low. Must be a volume business!..which is good way to enable many people to enjoy the zoo. At no point did it feel like the enclosures were poorly maintained, as happened in places in China.

While we were visiting Mysore it was festival time. This means that there are lights everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. Imagine every street across the whole city with lights like this. And every tree in every park adorned with lights, and lots of shop fronts strung with lights. And large special displays of lights all over the place. It was extensive, and very pretty.
