This temple is from the Hoysala era, finished in 1258. The Hoysala ran all of South India at that time. This is one of the best preserved temples from that era.
David and the kids don't always like my diversions to visit random temples, but they liked seeing this one. It was quite atmospheric and the carvings were amazing..
The columns were made by elephants walking in circles.
This lady and her husband asked for pictures with Clara. Whenever the person asking for a picture looks interesting I also take a picture. What a beautiful sari.
They also took pictures of us putting on our shoes, which we found amusing. I took a picture too to see if I could identify why this would be interesting. Still not sure. Maybe 'foreigners they are just like us - they also remove their shoes at temples'. Who knows?
