Arulmigu Sri Parthasarathyswamy Temple and Marina Beach Lighthouse

Another outing for Mum and I.  We visited the temple, which was in full swing of morning worship.  No pictures allowed inside.  We then went to Marina Beach to see the statue of Gandhi.  Then walked to the Marina Beach lighthouse, where we were one of the first people to go up to the top for that day.  As we were coming down we saw a school group ascending, so we were lucky to have started early.

The outside of the temple.  This temple is from the 8th Century and honours Krishna.

Statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

The view in one direction from the lighthouse.

A peek at residents from the local area collecting their water for the morning.  The water is carried in colourful plastic jugs.  Our building has tap water that comes from a well.  It isn't perfect (far from it - definitely no drinking allowed), but there are much harder situations in this city.

Leaving the washing to dry on the beach.
