This Hindu temple in Besant Nagar is an interesting place to visit. It sits right beside the beach which gives it a great view. It hasn't been tidied up as many more touristy temples are. It feels like a 'real' local Indian temple. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Lakshmi (she is believed to create wealth).
Looking from the temple to Elliot's Beach in front.
Mum took some great pictures, then realised that she had accidentally switched her camera to sepia. Oops!
Myself and some ladies who were worshipping at the temple. I often get stopped and asked for pictures. I have decided to embrace it and now regularly ask for a selfie to also be taken on my phone. I should add though, I only do selfies with women and children. Unfortunately there are multiple reasons why it can be a problem to take selfies with men (certainly not always, but enough of an issue for me to just always say no).
Our first attempt at visiting the temple was thwarted by arriving at the wrong time (closed!). We found a little British cafe nearby where we ate scones and apple pie to pass the time.
