Entertaining Ourselves

During lockdown we were not allowed to leave our building.  We were aware of the police beating people who broke the rules and confiscating cars, bicycles, motorcycles etc.  The only exception was limited grocery shopping trips, which we tried to avoid because they were unpleasant - police check points, waiting in long socially distanced lines, the concern of realising that the stores were starting to run low on stock during the period that the state borders were shut.  We had to improvise to entertain ourselves.  I spent a fair bit of time occupied with Clara's school, trying to organise the move, and reading updates on the covid situation.

When we had down-time we headed to the roof.

I took pictures and marvelled at the consistently clear air.  In Northern India there were places that could now see The Himalayas (after many years of this being obscured the air pollution).

We watched the odd bit of movement on the streets below.  Here are two of our neighbours walking their goats.

We hung out and were each other's friends.  The kids played together a lot, which was nice.

Taking more pictures to entertain ourselves.

We also decided to pull out the wii, which hadn't been used in our home for a long time.   Clara hadn't even remembered using it in the past.  We had a great time playing wii sports.

With the enormous challenges that COVID has caused for India, it is nice to think that at least they had a small win in better air quality, even if only for a short while. Your photos from the roof top are gorgeous Megan!
