An Unexpected Stay in Sydney

When we left India, we thought we were heading to Melbourne and we would be staying in Melbourne until it was time to leave for Korea.  Throughout our approximately 1 month in Australia things kept evolving and we kept having to shift the plan.  We landed in Adelaide for quarantine.  We had organised to then go to Melbourne, but then Asiana released some direct flights from Sydney to Seoul that were a much better option than the Qatar Air flights we had previously planned.  So, the plan changed again and from Adelaide we flew to Sydney and were able to hang out there for a while until it was time to head to Korea.  Despite all of the crazy last-minute plan changes and shifting visa application locations etc, it all worked out in the end and we were lucky that all of the flights we booked during this time left as originally scheduled.

While we were in Sydney we were still doing school, work and trying to get ourselves organised for the next adventure.  We were busy!  But we did have some time to visit favourite places, friends and family.  We stayed in Manly, so enjoyed some good beach time, and surfing time for David, Ethan and Erica.

Revisiting our old neighbourhood in Drummoyne.  I miss those streets with the gorgeous harbour glimpses, beautiful old houses and Birkenhead Point up the road.

Our old apartment building.  We rented the apartment on the ground floor, which you can't see from this angle on the street.  That is level 3 and up.

The park down the road.

Going for a walk with Clara in Manly in between school lessons.

Clara connecting online for a school lesson with AISC.  They did an amazing job getting everything set up so quickly and then continuing to adapt to help the students who were scattering to all parts of the world.

Some down time playing on her ipad.

A poem about Clara's favourite part of AISC.

Exploring the rocks and the beach near the holiday home we were staying in.

Ah Sydney is stunningly beautiful (but also stunningly expensive)!  We miss that city.
