This is a UNESCO biosphere protection site. The mountain has the third highest peak in Korea. There are also two Buddhist temples in the National Park.
You could pay a small sum to write on one of the tiles which will apparently be used for maintenance. I feel like there is a chance that they might be painted over at the end of the day and re-sold, but who knows.
