This beach was beautiful. White sand and clear water. The water was very calm and shallow, so fun for Clara to play in.
Some Korean beaches have kiosks where you can hire equipment. This is really handy to prevent you having to carry all of your gear with you. We rented a beach mat, umbrella and a giant inflatable unicorn. The kids had fun playing on the unicorn.
The statues are of the Haenyeo - the women divers of Jeju. Most of these ladies are over 50, some as old as 80. I think today their diving is mostly for tourist shows, but traditionally they provided for their families by free-diving for seafood.
