Conversation with Nora, after we’d finished reading a book.. Me: Please put your book away in the bookcase Nora: I would like to put it in a case or a bag. Me: Why? Nora: I just really feel like putting something in a bag.

Young Men's Camp and Surfing

David organised the first ever Young Men's camp for the Chennai District. The Church here is fairly young (relatively-speaking) - a few decades old. The first member in Chennai is still alive and well, and not that old. The boys stayed at the campus of the Rising Star Outreach School. From memory they had a campfire and roasted marshmallows, a testimony meeting, sports, games and did service. There might be more that I am forgetting. Ethan and some of the other Young Men. Ethan's skin looks a little 'smooth' here because of the filter used. There is a popular photo filter in India that makes an Indian complexion look great, but makes fair skinned people look like dolls. David with two of the boys. We have the largest number of boys in our branch - about 15. The other branches are much smaller in terms of their youth numbers. Painting a fence. Clara Lately

Clara at her favourite place - the playground at school. She particularly loves playing on the monkey bars. Clara offering us all 'fancy lessons'. Inspired by Fancy Nancy. The sign reads "Fancy lessons in my room tomorrow Tuesday". Funny side note..Clara's teacher last year told me that sometimes when she marks Clara's work she can 'hear' her Australian accent, such as spelling Tuesday as 'Choosday'. For the rest of us we hear Clara's Australian accent less and less, with more and more American creeping in. She often switches between the two without realising it. When she has learnt a word specifically in school, such as saying 'period' for the end of a sentence, it comes out completely American. When she is saying a word that we use at home, like 'togs,' it comes out Australian. There is also an occasional bit of Indian accent and head bobbles. Beautiful flower display at s...

Halloween 2017

Getting set up for Halloween. My little helper (Clara) as always was a great assistant. Set-up for Trunk or Treat. We ended up having three occasions to go trick or treating. We had the Church Trunk or Treat. Then there was Saturday trick or treating in our compound for families who wanted to schedule on that night. Then there was the actual Halloween, when there was still more trick or treating in our compound. We also had our traditional Halloween meal. This is Clara (Queen Elsa) getting ready for trick or treating :)

Point Lonsdale

Right after Easter we went away for a week. We stayed in Point Lonsdale in Victoria, which is about 90 minutes South of Melbourne. To any of our family and friends in Victoria reading this and thinking 'hey where is the love?', we didn't catch up with anybody this time. We very much needed some Jeffrey family time. It has been in short supply lately. We snubbed you all equally. Promise to do some catch-ups next time we are in town :) We had a fairly casual, relaxed week (with only one day of work for David and an inspection of our house). Here are some pictures.. The beach at Point Lonsdale. We didn't swim. It was way too cold, but we did see others braving the water. We spent half a day swimming here - a new (to us) big indoor aquatic centre in Geelong.
