Palmyra

We visited Palmyra on the 4th of July.  What a great way to spend that special day!  We started the day at the Sacred Grove and the Smith family homes.

This is in the Sacred Grove.

We spread out, so we could sit and ponder.  We tried to keep Nora a little away from the other groups who were visiting.  What was a special quiet experience for others, was a great opportunity for climbing on rocks and logs for Nora.

Looking across to the temple.

Clara hefting a replica of the plates.

The Grandin Building.  It was very interesting to learn about the printing process of old times - very labour intensive.

This was at the Whitmer Farm in Fayette.  That is not the cabin of the farm, which was much more humble.  That is the visitor’s centre and a meetinghouse.

The Hill Cumorah monument.
